The origins of the Private Jet Villa trace back to 2014 when Indonesian carrier Mandala Airlines went into liquidation, leaving its assets, including a decommissioned Boeing 737-200 with the registration PK-RII, up for grabs. Originally intended to be transformed into a nightclub, the aircraft was abandoned by its Australian owner, setting the stage for Felix Demin’s visionary project.
Demin, already renowned for his Bubble Hotel Chain and Bali Investments, seized the opportunity to turn this forgotten aircraft into a sustainable luxury villa. His ambitious plan included offering the villa for vacations, weddings, and corporate events. To bring his vision to life, Demin sought an investor, and that's where former KGB officer turned banker Alexander Lebedev stepped in. Intrigued by the concept and enamored with the idea of repurposing an unwanted aircraft into a luxurious villa, Lebedev invested $200,000 into the project.
Despite facing setbacks exacerbated by the global pandemic, including delays in construction, the Private Jet Villa was completed in December 2023. Talking about the challenges, Demin expressed, "It was my dream to make this happen, and I achieved it. But it was incredibly hard, and I won't be making another one." This unique project, though difficult, has now become one of the world's most elite resorts, captivating travelers with its unparalleled charm.
For the ultimate arrival experience, the Private Jet Villa provides a helipad, allowing guests to be whisked away from Denpasar International Airport to their cliff-top sanctuary by helicopter.
